The requirements to open an account via Internet are as follows.

• You are 18 years old or older.
• Your resident registration is in Japan.
• For foreign nationals, both of the following conditions must be met:
  • 1.You have been staying in Japan for six months or longer, or you are employed at an office located in Japan.
  • 2.The remaining "Period of Stay" on your Residence Card must be at least 3 months from the date of application.

To apply for opening an account online, you need a domestic SMS-enabled mobile phone number, an e-mail address, and ID documents.
Open an account 

  The following individuals cannot open an account via Internet. Please visit your nearest branch or call 0120-504-189 (Within Japan /Toll-free).
